Bromazepam is used for the short-term treatment of anxiety. This medication belongs to a class of drugs known as benzodiazepines. It acts on the brain and nerves (central nervous system) to produce a calming effect.
Take this medication by mouth exactly as directed by your doctor. Do not increase your dose, use it more frequently or use it for a longer period of time than prescribed because this drug can be habit-forming. If used for an extended period, do not suddenly stop using this drug without your doctor’s approval. Over time, this drug may not work as well.
Before taking this medication, tell your pharmacist if you are allergic to it or to other benzodiazepines (such as diazepam, lorazepam); or if you have any other allergies. This product may contain inactive ingredients, which can cause allergic reactions or other problems. Talk to your pharmacist for more details.
Before using this medication, tell your doctor or pharmacist your medical history, especially of:
- a certain muscle/nerve condition (myasthenia gravis)
- mental/mood disorders (such as depression, psychosis)
- kidney disease
- liver disease
- personal or family history of a substance use disorder (such as overuse of or addiction to drugs/alcohol)
Store this medication at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 and 30 degrees C) away from heat and light. Do not store in the bathroom. Keep this and all medications out of the reach of children
